Data Science and Biostatistics
We use our professional knowledge to improve the quality of research. Our research is aimed at research designs and statistics involving human subjects. We also offer education for students of several faculties. We also give advice in and outside UMC Utrecht about research designs and data analysis in biomedical and biological research.
Education
We offer, among others, statistics courses for students of the faculties of Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, Biology and Pharmaceutical Sciences. We also offer specialized postgraduate statistics education to scientists, focusing on the principles and methods of biostatistics.
Research
We have professional knowledge of statistics methods and techniques. Our research comprises the following subjects:
- design and analysis of clinical research, including sequential and adaptive designs;
- causal inference and statistical prediction;
- classification for high-dimensional and complex data.
Consultancy
Data Management
Professional knowledge of the collection, processing and management of clinical research data. We have customized solutions for scientific research projects with our eClinical platform Research Online, which was developed in-house.
Project support
Professional support of and assistance with the implementation of research involving human subjects. We ensure efficient and high-quality implementation in line with applicable laws and regulations. That way, we contribute to the quality of scientific research projects.
Scientific advice
Scientific advice on the research subject, the quality and integrity of data and analysis, and reporting on this.
