Matching

During their general practice training, postgraduate students will be matched to a trainer several times.

In the first year of training, we use carrousel matching. During one afternoon session, postgraduate students and trainers each have four interviews. The postgraduate students will receive the profiles of these four trainers prior to these interviews. After the four interviews, both postgraduate students and trainers will pass on their preferences. The best possible match will be sought based on these preferences.

If postgraduate students or trainers cannot be present for these interviews, one-on-one matching will take place.

Matching for postgraduate students who start in September 2019 will take place on June 14.

Depending on any exemption obtained, the postgraduate students will complete an individual program during the second year. A full 2nd year comprises a hospital module (6 months), a GGZ mental health module, and a Chronic Care module (3 months each). For each internship, postgraduate students will give their preference for an internship post based on the institutes' Internship apprenticeship plans. However, there is no guarantee that postgraduate students will placed at their preferred internship post.

For matching in the third year of training, postgraduate students visit trainers in their practice. Postgraduate students and trainers will pass on their preferences based on the meeting. The best possible match will be sought based on these preferences. In certain situations, we will deviate from the regular matching procedure and apply one-on-one matching.
