A full-time postgraduate student works 38 hours a week: 31.5 hours in the practice and 6.5 hours of in-house training. The practical hours are inclusive of the hours of shifts in a general practice center. If there is no in-house training, these hours are spent in the practice. Self-study takes place in the postgraduate students' own time.

You are entitled to unpaid parental leave if you take care of a child under age eight. The training will be extended proportionally: the rules for compensation of training time are identical to the rules for working part time. Full parental leave can only be taken in consultation with the General Practice Training Institute.
You accrue no vacation rights during hours of parental leave. All other terms and conditions and the application form can be found on the SBOH website.

Part-Time Education Year 1 And Year 3
In the 1st and 3rd years, basically all part-time percentages between 70 and 100% are possible. Whatever the percentage, a postgraduate student must work in the practice at least three days a week. The percentage applies for the entire year and may only be changed during the year in exceptional cases. In the event of a part-time percentage of more than 80%, compensation will be given at the end of the training. Students must be present on two Wednesdays during the year to take the national general practice knowledge test (first week of April and October).
Part-Time Education Year 2
Different rules apply to part-time education in the 2nd year. During the Chronic Care and GGZ internships, you can work part-time percentages between 84.21% (32 hours a week) and 100%. The internship will not be extended; compensation will be given at the end of training. For the Clinical Internship, a part-time option of 70% applies. In that case, the internship lasts 9 instead of 6 months.
