You can apply for exemption by means of the ELE until 1 month before start of the program. You will have to submit a portfolio with proof of the acquired competencies. The portfolio contains the following documents, preferably joined/scanned into a single PDF file:
- request for exemption from the postgraduate student with motivation (max. ½ A4)
- enumeration of institutes where experience has been gained and on which the request for exemption is based
- list of acquired competencies of the internship in year 2 (CZ/GGZ/SEH) for which the postgraduate student requests exemption, signed by the former supervisor/trainer
- employer's statement for each employment contract showing: duration of appointment and part-time percentage or diploma (military physician, tropical doctor, other specialism)
- certificates or other documents as proof that a certain competency is kept up to date.
- other documentation to support the request.
The statement about work experience must be supplied on official letterhead of the institute in question, including signature. The required forms can be found in the ELE.
Assessment And Definitive Approval uitklapper, klik om te openen
The coordinator of exemptions and head of the program assess the request for exemption within one month and verify the recognition of the institute where experience was gained with the RGS. You will receive a provisional exemption if the competency is demonstrated. If your request for exemption is not honored, you will be informed accordingly, including the reason for the rejection.
The competencies acquired will be tested during the progress meetings in the 3rd and 6th month of the first year of training. The competency assessment lists of the second year for the clinical internship, chronic care and GGZ are taken as a basis for the assessment of these competencies.
In addition, the postgraduate student describes in their own progress report which competencies they have demonstrated in the general practice to substantiate their request for exemption. The trainer responds to the postgraduate student's report and describes their vision, while the lecturer inventories the findings and supplements these, if necessary.
During the progress meeting in the 6th month, the lecturer gives a recommendation on the requested exemption based on the above.
Award
The coordinator of exemptions and the head of the program take the definitive decision. An exemption that has been awarded cannot be modified.
